Anyone gotten a Pilot G Tec refill to work in a rollerball kit?

I've done some searching on this forum and Googling, but so far not finding much beyond totally custom builds.

I have a friend who really loves the G-Tec pens and asked me to make him a custom wooden body that could fit those refills. From looking at them, compared to a standard 888 style rollerball refill, they seem to have a bit more diameter around the bottom, and not as long of a thin section that would protrude past the section of a kit. Hopefully both solveable problems with some ingenuity.

Just figured I'd ask if someone has managed to modify either a rollerball pen kit or one of these G Tec refills to get them to play nicely together? If not, I'll take a crack at it and report back.

Which refills exactly? The G-tec ones I'm talking about are pretty different from the popular G2, which is pretty easy to make work in most rollerballs.

I don't but wonder if it might not be something along the lines of the Pentel conversion. Either modifications to fit inside a 7 mm tube or special drill bits to achieve a fit. You might be onto something if you figure it out.

Forget it, I see it needs a cap. I guess you could modify one as bespoke makers do.

Should be easy. Just to mount the roller ball nib in collet chuck and drill out step to fit refill.
That's about what I was picturing trying if I can't figure out how to modify the refill itself to fit an unmodified nib/section.

Never tried mounting a cone in a collet chuck. Is there some trick to it?
