I need a small amount of hammered copper. A couple of 3x5 and two 3x1.5 inches. Picked up some left over copper from a custom rain gutter installer but could use some "how to knowledge"

I use hammered copper on clips from time to time. It couldn't be simpler. Put it on a flat piece of wood and hit it with the peen of a hammer. Copper is a soft metal. You'll probably want to work harden it (I use a rock tumbler for this).

Strongly suggest you anneal it before whacking it to make it more labile ( easier to shape ) . Once the shape you want it will naturally harden . Repeated small impacts harden the metal structure as well.

To support underneath the shape you are working a sock filled with sand works well ot a former in hardwood of the shape you want

I am trying to mimic/duplicate these copper pieces.... A friend already made some copper nails for me.
