My website is through In Motion Hosting. Recently I have been receiving a lot of obvious spam emails, which I never open and mark the messages as spam. I finally got smart and went to cPanel and checked the access logs to my site and recorded all the IP addresses. I then went to a 3rd party IP address finder, and found out I was getting numerous hits from China, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, some from India- well you get the idea. I then went back to cPanel?Security/IP Address blocker and blocked them all from accessing my site. Very time consuming, and I fear not a one time solution.

Question: Has/does anyone else have a similar problems, and if so, how have you been able to solve it? BTW the cPanel SpamAssassin connected to my site is on.

I've been getting more than usual lately, do not open any of them if I don't recognize the obvious signs. Seems there are some amazing deals out there on Rolex watches, Viagra, Cialis and other very useful items.....so I've heard. I wish there was a way to do a reverse charge sent to the initiator that would blow up the town they are in, that would slow it down a bit.

I have been getting the Ted's Woodworking spam emails. I have to wonder which woodworking site or vendor site I belong to sold its mailing list. Not casting aspersions on anyone in particular. My email address is known to many sites, magazines, and vendors. It could be any of them or even Yourtube, Facebook, or Google.

Unfortunately, once the spam bots have spidered your email there is nothing you can do about it. Eventually they will move on to spoofing your email in their spam operations, which causes even more problems as your domain will start to get blacklisted.

Knock on wood, but I haven't had a spam through my website in a day and a half. Just denying access to a whole range of IP addresses from China, Russia or where ever seems to have worked for now at least. I don't think I'll miss any customers from there anyways.
