That's what I got,it happened over about 1 day.I have a "Bakers Cyst" on the backside, and a hard water-like sack on both side of the knee cap area.

It really hurts, and will be seeing an Ortho guy tomorrow. They already checked it with xrays-ok there.

I think t's arthritis.

So any words of wisdom,or what to expect?

Thanks,
Steve

sorry,, happened to me last year,, hurt like ??!!## then pain went into calf as fluid was absorbed dr didnt want to drain it took several weeks..

So did it go away on it's own then?

I had it a little bit last year, not being aware of what it was.It took 9 months to go away.I then had about 3 months of normal, til now.

I hope they don't have to suck it out with a needle....or something like that.I have so much work to get done,I'm hoping for no downtime.

Thanks,
Steve

I was on the Snap-on tool truck, and the husband and wife team asked why I was limping around. The wife told me about it,and she showed me hers & it's just like mine.like the size of half of an orange bulging out from the back of the joint. That was before it moved to the front sides.

She said they don't like to drain them anymore for some reason.I hate it that I can't run across the parking lot

The doc said at 53,I'm too young to have knee replacemt surgery since they don't last more than 20 years, and the 2nd one's never as good as the 1st.He said to try to get another 10 years somehow.

Ice doesn't make it better,I'm doing that right now.So I'm hoping they can drain it out somehow.

Thanks,
Steve

I would get a new Dr.

I know folks in there 40's having knee replacements. A Co-worker is 41 and just had one. Things have changed in the joint replacement business alot over the last few years.

I had both knees replaced at 57, it was the best decision I ever made. I no longer have pain. going in fo a total shoulder replacement after the Holidays. my only concern I will be out of commission for 3 months minimum.

good luck, find another doctor

ONE TIME! When I worked for a chain making company, I ran a ball drifter that punch ball bearing thru the holes in 4" chain links. The links were laid out on a table to my right side. I would have to rotate to my left repeatedly for seven hours every day. Hurt like the devil till my Dr. drained it.

I had mine drained a few times Dr. Gibson would stick a big needle in and suck it out I have had no problem since I retired.

Steve, about 3 mths ago I rolled out of bed flat on the floor my right leg locked up caused by a blood cot dopplar radar scans showed a blood clot behind the knee accompanied by a bakers Cyst a scan 2 week after the first same as then 5 weeks later the clot was not there and evidence the Bakers Cyst had burst apparently the Cysts form with oil from the knee joint accumulating in the Cyst and burst eventually leaking slowly away causing a lot of pain.

My take but no actual fluid retention around either.

Have success in your recovery mine is fine now.

Kind regards Peter.

The lower stem would not adhere to the bone,
They had to make a "special" pouris cone to fit
between the bone and the stem
Has worked fine ever since, going on 3 years now

The last one was a different Dr.

I had 3 replacements on the same knee in 4 years..........
as of this date, i'm 56yr

How's come so many times? What happened?

thanks,
Steve
