Any one have any experience in removing the pressure sensitive postage stamps from the envelope? I bought a grab of stamps and would like to remove what remains of the envelope. I would like to use them to cast a blank or two.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im not sure about pressure sensitive stamps but I remove all of my stamps by pouring a flat cake pan of warm water and placing the stamps on top of the water to soak for about 20 minutes or more if needed. The stamps then lift right off the paper. I then set them on a paper towel to dry.

I've used a Bic lighter moving it quickly under the stamp to heat the area then apply a steady pull to peel it off - basically the same as the hair dryer. Just don't hold the lighter too long in one spot.

I have a large collection of Irish stamps from when they were first issued in 1922. I've soaked most of the used stamps I collected in luke warm water with no problems. When the paper soaks off place the stamps face down and leave them to dry. After they have dried place them between a book and they will flatten.

Thanks again folks for the responses. The problem has been solved.
I took a Q-tip and applied acetone to the paper side and as soon as the acetone soaked in I just peeled off the stamp. Worked like a charm and no damage to the stamp the color was not effected either.
Thanks again for the help.
