I don't cast, but curious, how do you do the pine cones

Are they right from the tree or are they ready to turn

gimpy I've turned pine cone pens. You can take a dry pine cone that has fallen from the tree and put it in water and it will close back up. Then ring out the water and added lots of thin ca glue to stabilize the pine cone drill for your tube it will want to close up so redrill and glue it on the tube turn and add thin ca as needed and I finished them with med ca for the finish. I've seen where people have done the casting it looks really nice!!!
