I've seen reports online that lead singer of Metallica James Hetfield was killed friday morning. Basically they are unconfirmed reports but I have seen nothing on the news and there's rumour that its bogus. I'm a huge fan and I really want to find out if its true or not. Anyone, please, say it ain't true!

I haven't heard anything about it. We have a local radio station that plays "mandatory Metallica" every night and they haven't said anything.
Checked their website and a couple others and no mention of it.

If it happened Friday, or even today, it would be all over. There is no mention even on their forum, myspace, or facebook.

I just seen that they are going to be about 50 miles from us tomorrow night.

must be a hoax, what sick *&^%s would make up a story like that. God my heart nearly stopped yesterday when i read it

I've searched everywhere I can think of and can't find anything.

The concert tomorrow hasn't been canceled.

They (Metallica) aren't what they used to be...

I grew up with them, from the begging, but their music as of late has fallen and their views on Peer to Peer, and digital music leave me looking elsewhere for a replacement, considering when they were eating PB&J and giving out Tapes to anyone that would take one, sharing the music and embracing the fans was #1, now it all dollars and cents...

But on topic, seems some idiot made an assumption on the passengers of a plane...

I thought everybody was a Metallica fan!No, I haven't heard anything about it either,I don't really care for thier new music much but can't get enough of the older stuff!

I don't know anything about the band or members and don't recall hearing if someone died lately or not. All I know is that Metallica with the Symphony Orchestra is the greatest album ever! That orchestra makes a huge difference, brings the band and music to a power level so extreme you have to crank it all the way up. Amazing. I have always been a fan of metal rock and of orchestra music too. They both exude rage. It's good to scream once in awhile. I wish some of the old timers like Bach could have experienced it. I experience Metallica live too, must have been at least 15 years ago, Lolapalooza Toronto I think it was.
