i just picked up a ROCKWELL/DELTA DP that the guy said was made in the 80's. i doubt it. maybe the 1880's? ser # is 119-86XX. runs great etc, has a 1/2 hp motor. facing the machine on the right side high up, below the pulley cover by the spindle handle is a plug, maybe 3/4". if it was on my jeep tranny i would say it is a fill or drain plug. surely this thing doesn't run in an oil bath? anyway...for $100 i'm not complaining. still has the original pulley belt that says ROCKWELL on it.

John, the serial number looks like it was manufactured in 1986. You might want to clean and oil the DP spindle. The bearings should be sealed and, unless the motor is not working or noisey, I'd clean the bugger up and enjoy it.

I had a similar Delta DP built in the 80's and it was far superior to some of their later stuff. Heavier castings and column. I sold mine for about the same as yours. You got a good deal I think.
