Anvil Olive

My second PSI Anvil, this one in gunmetal. The blank is Bethlehem olive wood, and the finish is Watco Danish oil. I made this for my friend Olga, she wanted a fairly somewhat slim pen, and she loves wood pens. I'm happy with it.

What is the drying/curing time for that Watco finish ? . I would like to try it. . Thanks.

Are there any special requirements for applying it ? . Or just rub it onto the smooth-sanded and cleaned wood barrel ?

It dries in about an hour. I apply a good coat with the lathe off, then apply another coat with the blank spinning, like a friction finish. It will dull a little as it dries. But I prefer a satin finish on most woods, for some reason.

So I have a can of that I used for the live edge table I made for my daughter. I left it to dry for a week and then hit it with about 5 coats of poly. I was wondering if I could do the same with a pen blank, but use CA after the Danish Oil was totally try. Think that would work? (of course, I could just try it...)

I really don't know, I've never tried it. Let us know how it works!
