Yesterday I showed one of my coworkers (and repeat customer) one of my bolt action pens. After telling me he needed one he reached into his bag and pulled out one of his .308 replica pens (Berea, I think) and told me the following story.

One day I was getting into my bag to get my pen out and noticed that the top part was not attached. I had taken it off for something and evidently it fell out of my bag somewhere. Three or four days later I was walking into the school and saw the top half of my pen in the middle of the driveway in front of the school!

The pen had obviously been run over (who knows how many times) and was only slightly deformed. It was whitetail antler and had cracked down one side and a very minor crack on one end. There were also some small scratches in the finish (CA) and on the metal components. All in all I was very impressed with how the parts held up to something as violent as being run over on concrete, gave me a new respect for the quality of that component set and also for the strength of a CA finish!

:cat::cat::cat: Tell your friend he might try tying a length of yarn on the cap and pen to keep the pair together. Don't remember where I saw that !! Happy Holidays !!! Jim S
