Anti Check Washing Ink

What is the best refill that is hard to wash when writing checks. Thanks.

Uniball Signo 207. I heard about it from Frank Abagnale at one of his talks.

It's slightly off from the typical rollerball size, by maybe a mil or half mil. Close enough to work at least.

Agree about the Uniball. The old, no longer made, Sierra Click had a roughly 1/2" extension between the refill and click mechanism (longer tube). You could replace the kit refill with the 207 and pitch the extension and the pen clicked even better. With some careful measuring you should be able to cut longer brass tubes to fit the click pen you like to make it work. Not much call for anti check washing ink anymore with everyone using plastic.

If you mean something that doesn't smear easily, the Ohto Flash Dry is nice. It's a parker size refill, but it has a needle point. It really does dry fast; great for lefties.

I believe they are talking about an ink that can't be "washed" off a check. It's a scam where the scammer will take a good check (say, for twenty dollars), wash off the 20.00 and the words "twenty and no/100" and replace it with a much larger amount. Still has your signature, the date, etc, so it's easy to cash and a mess to resolve. Most of the "traditional" inks are susceptible to this scam - not the Uniball referenced.
