I was thinking that along with the kind and deserving words about Red Skelton, I might also include some for Andy Griffith. As with many of us, I grew up with Opie, with Andy as a kind of father figure. The bad part is that we are losing our "good ones" pretty fast nowadays. As Bob Hope used to say: "thanks for the memories".

Great cartoon - many, many, many stories are behind that picture.
RIP Andy (PVT., Sheriff, Ben, and all the other beloved characters that shared his career). As a person you will be missed - thanks for leaving all your characters behind in reruns for us to enjoy. Also, for the gospel songs that reflected your faith.
Spent the day with a Matlock Marathon - well timed.

He was a true great - he did everything, movies, TV, Broadway and Recording. Comedy and Drama - No Time for Sargeants and A Face in the Crowd were his best movies. I have a wonderful CD of Andy singing hymns and he had a wonderful singing voice....truely a man for all seasons.
