Walnut and ambrosia maple..with Mylands 3 step finish...am wondering about my kit choice..thinking gold or copper would have been a better contrast..antique brass doesn't look right to my eye...and definately going with ca next finish..as always..opinions are very welcome..

I like segmented pens, any of them. On your next one take and cut them all on 45 degree and try that, or maybe 2-3 down the road. I find the challenge of finding new ways to cut and glue up wood fun.

It looks great. Tight seams, good fit. The gold probably would have looked a little better, but nothing's wrong with the kit you have on there. I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous....

I like segmenting different materials. I've done wood and acrylic, wood and PR, wood, PR, and antler, PR and antler, antler and wood, the list goes on. Opens up LOTS of opportunities for contrasting material.
