Hi,

Just joined, been kicking around the idea of a small lathe for some time, my 12 year old son was interested as well. Picked up a little unit from Rockler and made our first set of pens over the weekend. The two of us are now hooked, look forward to reading, learning and making things!

well, a few pens in now (just basic slimlines), but really liking it... tried an acrylic (with my son), looks nice but not crazy about working with acrylic (smells and comes off like silly string!). Also tried a baseball bat pen for my son, but cut through to the sleeve... will give it another try tonight!
