Just got back from taking my 17yr to get is permit...He did the easy part by passing. Now I have to do the hard part and teach him how to drive in this crazy world.. Do you guys remember your first driving experiance??

I remember going for my drivers test and the officer would not give it to me because I had on moccasins even tho they had hard soles. So I traded shoes with my brother and was able to pass. Then drove my mom crazy wanting to drive everywhere

I was working for a construction company, there was some legal way he found for me to work, actually had to pay taxes on my couple bucks an hour. Well anyways we were building houses an hour and a half away. The owner of the company actually worked on the jobs. I rode with him, and in the afternoon we would stop at the gas station, he would get his diet coke to go with his Canadian Mist, and would have me drive home. I had just gotten my permit the day before I started working for him.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I had to take and pass the driver's test at 14 to get my motorcycle license. So when I turned 15 getting the permit was no big deal. Learning to drive the car drove my Dad nuts and Mom ended up teaching me. I thought it would have been the other way.
It has been two - three years since my youngest learned to drive and got her license. Just the opposite of me, I had to teach her because her Mom was a nervous wrech. I made sure that she learned to drive a stick too. I feel everyone needs to know how.
