Another Leyland Cypress pen

Some Leyland Cypress. I turned the Sierra or Bullet bushings backwards for the EVEN THICKER body. I was expecting stronger figure in this piece, but it still came out decent. I avoided sanding, and instead backfilled low spots with a few coats of thick CA and then turned it off with the coarse MicroMesh. Added a few more coats of medium, and polished like usual.

Looks good from here. Different and interesting. Nice finish. I like the knots.

Good looking pen Allen. Got about 30 of those dang Leland Cypress trees on the border of the property. Most about 20-25 feet high. Just waiting for another ice storm to harvest some, now that I know it has some usefulness.

BTW - My scrap box is getting kind of full. When's the next meeting?

Bobalu- Just harvest interior branches that got shade-killed. Next meeting I think is on the 17th of next month.
