My second Keyring Lighter from Woodturners Warehouse, also gunmetal. And another piece of nicely figured bocote. The finish is Pens Plus and carnuba wax. I think I've decided I don't like this kit. It's too tedious and annoying. I still have a chrome kit, but at this point I'm not very interested in making it.

I forgot to put in the insert as I was assembling it. Not the kit's fault, but still annoying. Fortunately, it disassembled easily.

Fiddly bits. My fingers are too big for such small parts. And I don't have the dexterity I used to.

I wish somebody would make a kit with a jet lighter. I smoke cigars and jet flames are so much better to light with then these soft flame lighters. Good to know they are not big finger friendly. Another reason to avoid them lol.

I like that with the bocote. I thought about trying them at one point. If it were me, and I felt the way you do about the kit, I think I'd make the chrome one right away before I forget that I had to put the insert in first and that would also just get it out of the way.

I've been working on the chrome kit, using SpectraPly. I've broken two pieces for the cap so far, during trimming. I think I'm going to use a piece of black acrylic for the cap instead, since I've already got the body piece of Spectraply trimmed and ready to turn.
