I was going to make a wise a%$e comment about a Scotsmen buying a beer, [}] but I know firsthand that those comments are just myths.
I just spent a few days in the electric mountain at Cruachan, on the banks of Loch Awe. It has to be one of the UK's most scenic areas. []

I have never seen that wood before. In the picture, it looks almost like there are different woods, or maybe sap and heart. Is it just the picture? By the way, your photos are better than mine

Gary there is no sapwood on this pen, just a very dark blank with a lot of shine. This piece of Katalox is the first I have used and the is virtually no grain/pattern at all.
