I had a very touch acrylic blank "in lace acrilyster". I turn these all the time, over 100, but this one chipped out noo matter what I did. It eventually chipped to the tube. I ended up taking my carbide tool and banging it on the acrylic and ended up messing up my headstock. The headstock arbor is now bent.
Oh man I feel so stupid even admitting I did it out of anger but the truth is always best.
there's nowhere near chance that I can correct to line up back to center. And when I turn it on it makes horrible noises in the headstock when it spins.
What do I do? How hard it it is possible to get a replacement part and reassemble my jet1014 back to perfect alignment, luckily I'm going away for a week. So I can order this and have it shipped to the house.
The tapper and the threads are bent. Only the headstock was effected. I had a dead center in the headstock.
Suggestions? Cheapest way to fix?
