The tall one is from a wood called RAHADOR... no idea what it is or where it comes from... I bought it at my local wood supplier and she didn't know any more than it's name... the little one is from a chunk of wood my neighbor brought over... he didn't know what it was but said his splitter wouldn't split it... we initially cut a log open and thought it was some sort of maple, but after turning a few pieces and getting more into the grain, I'm pretty well convinced it's sycamore. The little one is from the sapwood of one of the logs and has great spalting. The darker one is more heart wood from the same log and the lighter one is from a block of hickory I had laying about. And you will all recognize the wormy maple with the ambrosia beetle stains.
All are the crush grind and finish is wipe on poly...
