I sure there are a few Amazon Prime Customers here and I sure you know that the cost is going up from $79.00 to $99.00 per year. There has been a lot of chatter on Amazon and facebook about this and I would like to know how some of you feel about it. Evelyn and I will keep our membership we feel it well worth it. We order a fair amount to things and it nice to have it in two day and sometimes in 24 hours or less.

Yep. Keeping mine. I've ordered some large items over the last two years like the jet 1221 last year, that more than paid for it and I plan some things this year.

Where we live there is limited shopping unless you are a Wallyworld fan and we are not so Amazon gets a ton of business from us. The Prime membership will still be a bargain at $99.00 for us.

I think I will be cancelling mine. I don't order much from them anymore to justify it and I don't watch TV so that part of the deal is not worth anything to me. Years ago Amazon had pretty good prices but they have kept going up and are now pretty much comparable to what I can get local. Also, I have noticed that the same items that qualify for Prime are cheaper through their other vendors that don't qualify for prime...sometimes about the same when you add the shipping so the "DEAL" gets watered down even more.
Eugene.

Yup. My wife and I will keep our Amazon Prime, for sure. We use it as a family. Our grown and married kids join in with us. Split four ways, it's very economical. Everyone can use it from their own computers and the items they order can be delivered to any address they want. Works for us:wink:!

I'll probably keep mine although it's barely worth it cost-wise for the reasons that Eugene noted. I did use it quite a bit in Dec though, so that convenience was worth a lot. I didn't set foot inside a single shopping mall and very few stores at all for my Christmas shopping.

We will be keeping our, we have used it a lot over the last year. As we are getting older it is more convenient for us to buy on line and the free shipping make it easy. Still have to pay Sales tax though California finally managed to pressure them into collecting Sales Tax.

While my local area is decently sized, selections are generally limited. My wife and I have recently become Amazon addicts, and the convenience of items getting here in two days is fabulous! We will keep it!

Never had it....I have one of those Roku things for movies on the TV, but we chose the Netflix option(the movies through Amazon weren't as up-to-date*JMHO*).

Free shipping can be had if you are willing to wait(although I have noticed Amazon will 'sit' on an order for 5-7 then ship it, it will arrive after one day *this is 'punishment' for not buying the Prime thing*).

I'd still rather 'touchy-feely' the actual product, and as far as I know, we don't have an Amazon store in Arkiesaw?

Scott (still not gonna get it, cost should have went down instead of up) B

We order from Amazon almost every week. THere are stores around us but even for some simple things we order from them instead of making an extra trip to the store. I am really lazy. :)

Also with Prime was was able to watch all the original episodes of Star Trek with the Roku box I got at Christmas. Nothing beats turning a pen while listening to Start Trek. :)

I bought a Dewalt 10" Sliding dual compound Miter Saw and Portable stand on Amazon for $70 less than at HD of Lowes and with free 2 day shipping and the UPS guy brought it in and put on the floor of my Garage. A Power Surge took out our Garage Refrigerator the other night, was going to get rid of it anyhow Ordered a chest style freezer, just what we wanted and cheaper
on Amazon and free shipping it will be here Monday. Locally the want $50-$60 or more to deliver and not even same day delivery and it can take a week to get it, so why not wait a couple of days and get it shipped and delivered free.

Planning to keep it at this time. I have noticed that the Prime eligible products are more expensive anyway, so they have already rolled some cost into the product. Plus they opened a distirbution facility in Texas and now I have to pay SALES TAX! I presume that in most states you can still shop tax free. I shop most purchases and they tend to come out winner, just not as sweet as it used to be.

Regarding the streaming video, I am waiting for a member to develop an algorithm that will compare the cost of the movies that I like on the different services so I will know which on to subscribe to. That could tip the scales.
