Hello everyone!

I have tried gluing aluminum to wood using all the recommended methods I can find in this forum. I even called Locktite for their recommendation.

My results have been spotty at best.

And yet it seem a lot of people are doing this successfully. Or are you?

My concern is the long term reliability of the glue joint. Even if you are (or I am) successful at finishing a pen with aluminum joints, how long will it hold up? What's your experience?

I have used Soda can aluminum in some woods. Walnut and even pauduk. Sand/scuff the can on both sides used accelerator on the wood to dry it. Drilled glued and did Sierra style pens with no problems. Ca finish on all with no problems either. Careful sanding so you dont sand wood more than the aluminum.
I cary the Walnut one and had no problems yet, used about 9 months so far

Hope this helps
