Aluminum Fountain Pen

I finished this today. It is the Commander kit from Woodturningz. I like it better than the Churchill. It is medium point and writes more smoothly. The finish came out precisely how I wanted it. I had to experiment to get that finish.

Thanks for the compliments. That's a design that's been In my head for a while. I couldn't get a finish I liked on the blanks until now. It gets better... a guy I work with saw the pic and ordered 2 plus another two in brass

Thanks. I don't know what grade the aluminum is. Somebody sent me some blanks several years ago. I turned a pen but wasn't happy with the finish. It took me some time to figure out I wanted the satin rather than shiny look and it took some experimentation to get that look. No finish. I'm a minimalist.
