Afzelia burl

Had a person at work request a civil war pen for her husband. Used Afzelia Burl and finished with CA glue.

Thanks for the comments. You are correct about difficult to work with. The first blank I used wa like rotten after I was turning it. There was nothing I could do but turn all the wood off and start with a new blank. I have never had that happen before.

This is very true. I have had more of this species blow out on me when drilling for the tube than any other.
