African sumac and mystery wood pens

Here is a pen I turned from the African sumac, and one from the mystery wood I am trying to identify.

African sumac slimline. The sumac is a little bit curly in places.

Mystery wood softgrip (without the grip.)

Any help IDing the wood would be appreciated.
