I have turned cigar pencil kits in the past, and have had decent luck with them. I have now been asked to turn a pencil that has a .05 or .07 lead size and is a smaller body, much like a 7mm or similarly smaller pencil kit.

I NEED RECOMMENDATIONS on successful and very reliable pencil kits with the name of the kit and the vendor to purchase from. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated, those that have a bunch of experience with the pencil kit sales and the experience of turning them would also be greatly appreciated

I made slim pencils too in the past. I stopped making them for IMHO reliable pencils include a reliable mechanism, like the Schmidt mechanisms. The Cigar has a Schmidt mechanism and you can also mount the Schmidt 2006 mechanism on El Grande ballpoint and Perfect Fit, the latter two being convertible (from BP to pencil).
For your customer, the Perfect Fit seems a good alternative. There is also an European pencil sold by Woodpenpro offering the Schmidt mechanism as an option. I think Craft Supplies sells an European too but not sure it's still offered with a Schmidt mechanism.

I really like the Atlas or Patriot style twist cap pencil. I made one I used heavily. The WC slim pencil failed on me a couple times. I then bought from an online vendor and so far had no issues. I forget which though. I know that doesn't help a lot with the more slender design, but thought I would put that out there. I haven't tried a sierra style pencil kit yet personally.

How do you tell what size lead and if it's a Schmidt mechanism? My accountant wants me to make him a pen & pencil set with .05 lead size. I went to woodenpenpro but it doesn't say lead size or manufacturer of the mechanism. Any recommendations on pen & pencil sets around the comfort size?

I haven't assembled Constant's latest kits, but remember a clicker pen prototype of his a few months ago as being the best feeling clicker mechanism I've encountered in, um, penmakingdom...

Robert:
I personally like the Perfect Fit. It is one of the few that will use a .07 (my preference) or the .05 lead. Additionally, just by dropping in a Monteverdi or EZ Flo 9000 refill and spring, you get a pen that writes beautifully.

The Perfect Fit is available in all the upgrade platings, has two available centerbands, and since it is a "three piece assembly" centerband, it is simple to customize your centerband to match or contrast the materials you used for the pen barrels.

Additionally, the fenial uses the same sized threads as the Berea European. This means that by purchasing a $5 fenial mandrel and a few cheap studs, you can make you own domed fenial, a stylus end or a "custom eraser" top with very little effort.

Respectfully submitted.

Is the perfect fit available in a rhodium plating? I didn't see it at Berea or Beartooth Woods.

To complete what Andy wrote above, along with the Perfect Fit, two other Berea kits are of the same quality: the Cigar pencil and the El Grande convertible Ballpoint/pencil. The three of them use the same Schmidt transmission (offered with these kits) like this one: Twist Mechanism (m7.1) [10101] : Richard L. Greenwald, LLC, Pens, Pens Parts and Photographs

These 3 kits are ballpoint/pencil convertible and use the same "DSM 2006" Schmidt mechanism available in .05mm or .07mm. Here: Bear Tooth Woods - Pencil Mechanism - 0.7mm - Premium Schmidt .

Berea kits apart, Wooden pen pro sells pencil kits which as standard use Taiwan made clone Schmidt transmissions and mechanisms while the genuine Schmidt transmissions and mechanisms are available as an option. Here: Pencil Kits, Cigar Pencil Kits, Slim Pencil Kits, Designer Pencil Kits

Also, in Europe, the German DNS, collaborative with the firm Schmidt, offered lately a seemingly (I haven't made these kits) qualitative pencil mechanism. Here: dns TWISTER Graphite Pen Kit
