Saw this on another site and modified for myself. Sure saves on the old back.
Tension box style top mounted on a Harbor Freight 1000# lift table.

You know, I saw that item at Harbor Freight one time and wondered if it could be adapted to make a nice work table. It seems everything we do needs a "special" height in order to see as you're working. Anyway, over time I forgot about this lift. Now that I know it works, I think its time. A big thank you for posting this, and having the adventurous spirit to try it out!
 
i saw this somewhere too, brilliant, i love the idea. as for tipping, i can only imagine that base weighs a ton.

Marc, you are absolutely correct. That thing ways a ton. The table actually only has about a 6-8" overhang. It is very stable. Has a little side way give because of the rollers that run in tracks on the bottom of the table but it is very slight. I think I am really going to like it.
