Ok the painted blanks & tubes have dried/cured overnight. Now for that glue!
I use two part 5 minute epoxy glue. Coffee sticks are used to mix and apply the glue. You'll see scratch paper mixing pads. I mixed five or six smaller batches of epoxy to complete the 22 blanks. I do this for two reasons: glue starts to harden and the paint often transfers to the glue. I don't like blue glue inside white blanks! That said I take a chill pill and do smaller groups of similarly colored blanks. I clean up and start another color. Slowly insert the tube twisting as you go. You can also go in and out, but get going- that glue is hardening. Wipe off the excess glue from both ends and set to cure. Yes, it says 5 minutes but I'll work on these tomorrow NOT today.
When asked how long it takes for me to make a pen I say three days and stick to that. My method actually produces many pens in three days though I leave that part out.
