As all families must go, the minute someone finds out you have a certain hobby (such as pen making) they bring you anything related to pens thinking you can solve the problems. So here is my problem that I've been handed and wondered if anyone out there knew of a solution.

I have an Acme fountain pen- Frank Lloyd Wright model, and the upper cap was broken off the top, right above the clip. The cap screws onto a plastic form which slides into the top- and it's this plastic form that the pen clicks in to when you close it. Cheap design, and it should be a crime for them to charge the amount of money that they do for plastic pens. Anyway.. I need that plastic form which slides into the cap and has the threads on top to screw the top cap back on---- anyone know of a supplier to get replacement parts? I could just CA the whole piece together and call it good, but thought I would try the part route first.

My first suggestion to my sister-in-law is buy one of my pens and she would never have this problem again. The second suggestion may be to send it back to an authorized repair facility and pay big bucks.

Parts like the ones you are looking for are proprietary for the specific pen or company and in most cases are only available from the original manufacturer or an authorized repair center .

Jeff it is weird. The cap clicks on instead of screwing on like most of our pens. What would be the threaded piece inside our pens is the click part on this pen- except it extends all the way through the cap- the clip goes on it and the finial (or top cap) screws on top. There is no brass tube inside, its a one piece plastic. Cheap for how much they charge for the pen.

As for my Sparty- thanks.
