I discovered something yesterday, probably should have realized it sooner.
Since winter in Arizona can be mild I had left my quart can of acetone sitting on my bench near the lathe since it is used regularly. In the summer the sun does not shine directly into the garage. But as the sun shifts it begins to shine right on my workbench.
Long story short, I could hear what I thought was water running in the wall behind the lathe. (Don't hear as well as I used to.)
Couldn't find a leak so I asked my neighbor to help find the leak. Anyone reading has probably already figured out, the hissing was coming from my almost new quart of acetone.
Picked the can up and it was almost empty.
Lesson learned, Do not leave an acetone can in the in sun. Since the can of acetone I had the lid just snapped shut, sitting in the sun caused the liquid to evaporate hence all the hissing. (Goes without saying it is very dangerous.)
