In general, epoxy does better. But there are plenty that use CA. Use medium or thick if you use CA. Make sure the wood is not an oily wood, of if it is, wipe it with acetone before gluing.
1. Several ways to do it too. drill out the wood; drill out the acrylic and join them on the tube with epoxy.
2. glue them together and then drill out as one blank.
3. If a cast acrylic onto wood, do your cast, let it cure well then drill.
4. Complex segments will probably need some form of holding it together while drilling.
Keep all drilling slow and cool. Take little bites and let it cool off. Heat will loose glue's grips.
