This question is for Don Ward or anyone with experience making pens from brass cartridges. In his fine tutorial in the library, Don says that he doesn't care for lacquer as a finish on brass cartridges. Of course, powder coating would be more durable. But for just a couple pens, setting up for pc isn't practical. What is it about lacquer that makes it undesirable for brass cartridges? BTW, lacquer is excellent for wood pens and has proven durable.

For what it's worth I have sprayed lacquer on dozens of cartridge pens with great luck so far. A couple are over a year old now.
