The American Association of Woodturners International Symposium is going to be held in Pittsburg PA on June 25-28, 2015.
Since it's a drivable distance from my home I will be attending.
Anyone else plan on going?

Going to Pittsburgh

I am at the Utah Symposium and have tickets and hotel for the AAW, I may be overdoing it, but right now I am planning on attending. It should be a very special event!

There are rumors of a new Powermatic 3530C being unveiled. If you see that, I'd be interested in some pics, and the upgrades over the 3520B.

I've also heard there is a new Jet 1642 with a redesigned headstock.

I am happy with my American Beauty. Not interested in anything made in China.
I'm happy with the extra $4000 in my account.

I considered a Robust lathe. But I just couldn't justify the extra money. I even went & looked at one ( the Liberty) on a recent trip. If I hit the lottery, I may upgrade. But to be realistic, the PM fit my budget better.

Well Larry seeing that you are going half way across the country (literally).

I wood imagine you will drive the couple of hours to Waco in August.

I'll be there as a volunteer. I'm less than half an hour north of Pittsburgh and my turning club was asked to help. I'll be volunteering in the instant gallery a couple of days. I'm really looking forward to checking out the trade show. I wonder if there will be any pen-specific vendors there.

According to the AAW website, we will have Arizona Silhouette, Craft Supplies and Kallenshaan Woods on the vendor list. David Bell will be doing several demos.

Hope to see you there!

Edit: now I see that Mark beat me to the reply.....

OH MY GOODNESS! The AAW Symposiun in Pittsburgh is awesome! The items already in the instant gallery, and in the auctions are over the top! Creativity on steroids! Stunning!

Sat in on a pen session with Kurt Hurzog....ended up being an hour of show and tell, Q & A. Good stuff!

The Beads of Courage bowls are superb! There are literally hundreds of bowls!

Bowls and pens for for another local charity filled many tables too.

Good people.....good stuff! Like penturners!

Already met up with some IAP folks!...too much fun!

Tomorrow, I am helping with the youth turning during lunch with Andi Sullivan and again Saturday with wounded vets! Too Cool!

Can you tell that this is my first time here?
