Recently I got to spend almost 3 hours inside a restored Halifax bomber. This is the only fully restored Halifax in the world. There is another one in England but it has parts from Lancaster bombers. My father piloted one of these Halifaxes during the war. Along with me on the visit were my wife and the son of the tail gunner on the crew. What a moving experience it was to sit in a seat similar to the one in which my dad flew 40 missions. The overall average was 12 missions.
My wife had arranged for a reporter from the local newspaper to meet us at the RCAF Musuem in Trenton Ontario. Here is a link to the article. Vets I'm the tall good looking one on the right in the photo:biggrin:!
