I saw this little article in WOODTURNING, an English turning magazine.. The author Bill Care demonstrated a little bullet clock using the clock/watch inserts... I originally got mine from PSI (I think) with intention of making the pendant watches.. never got around to it though, so tried to copy Mr. Care's little clock.. He used a piece of Laburnum.. I used Cedar because that's what I had. I tried two others from Spalted Maple and from Honey Locust, but they didn't turn out so well..

Finished with BLO and Carnuba then buffed. This is very old and dry Cedar.. from a few deadfalls on the back of my lot.. probably has been down 6 or 7 years or so.. most of the heart wood is still good, but the sap woods has become totally punky..
