I have a very good friend that finally got to retire after working for most of his life like so many of us. After doing his time in Vietnam while in the Navy, he went to college to learn how to be a professional bean counter. I thought as a retirement gift, I would present him with an engraved pen made with teak wood from the deck of the USS North Carolina. With some help in the form of suggestions and directions from some of the IPA members, this is what I ended up with. Needless to say, my friend was ecstatic with the pen. I personally would like to those that gave me the dissidence in how to proceed with this project. I've only been making pens for about 1-1/2 years, and I used a "Maj Squire Gold TN & Black TN Ballpoint".
