I had a customer ask me if I had ever made a hybrid fountain pen - I had not, but I was intrigued by the idea. I dug up some old hybrid blanks I cast several years ago, and went to work.

I'm pretty happy how this pen turned out. I still need to tweak the finish a little, but other than that, I think it's a keeper.

Comments and Critiques welcome.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I coated the inside of the barrel and cap (where the wood parts are) with Polycrylic to hopefully reduce evaporation.

(ANOTHER) Great looking pen Kevin!

I have made a number of bespoke pens with hybrid blanks and like it. Similar to your process, I flooded the inside of cap and barrel with thin CA to make sure to protect the wood from any leakage and to (hopefully) seal against drying out the nib.

Keep up the great work!
