Here is a rack of bottle stoppers I made up from a box of blanks from Spectraply, plus some woods I had on hand. The light colored stoppers are spalted hackberry, there are 3 lignum vitae stoppers, a walnut and a spalted sycamore... the rest are Spectraply.... I still have about 2 dozen blanks to work up as soon as I get some more stopper kits.

WOW! 2 dozen stoppers at one time? Man, you must sell them like hot cakes!
I like the spalted ones. They look a lot like mushrooms to me.
I really like your drying rack too. That is a great idea.

What kind/brand of sanding sealer did you use?

Thanks for sharing these. It gives me some ideas on making some.
Now all I gotta do is get my butt into the shop. :)

I don't know what you use for stoppers but I highly recommend the stoppers from Ruth Niles. Nothing better on the market as far as I am concerned

I use a sanding sealer called "Old Masters"... I like better than the one put out by Minwax... Don't know if it's just local or nation wide.

I use a 304 stainless steel insert that I buy from a company in Seattle... they're almost identical to what Ruth Niles sells and half the price.

That spalted sycamore is pretty. Did you buy those blanks?

The white ones with the grayish marks are spalted Hackberry and no I did not buy the blanks... my pastor gave me a whole hackberry tree, and a customer from my booth also gave me some... think the bottle stoppers are from her wood... I get a great deal of my wood from friends and neighbors ... if someone gives me wood, I reciprocate with a bowl from their wood as a thank you gift.
