A friend of mine asked me to make a pen for his son, a Marine stationed oversea. He had a turned pen but was asked not to carry it because it was too shiny and could compromise the unit's position. This is my attempt to make a "Stealth" pen with a low gloss finish and non-reflective hardware. It's African Blackwood with Pau Amarillo and Bloodwood accents to signify the Marines scarlet and gold battle colors. On a PSI black enamel kit. I finished with satin Lacquer, 6 coats and rubbed out with some high grit MM and a paper bag.
