Here's a Zodiac and a Thank you pen. These were made from the same blank. The wood is dyed maple burl, but it's obviously mostly resin. This is Alumilite (not cast by me) with the holes and tubes painted black. The dyed burl has more contrast than I had expected. In hindsight, I probably should have painted that one a lighter color. It's not bad, just not what I had envisioned. I'm particularly happy with how the Zodiac came out, though. Both have a few layers of GluBoost medium and then thin, wet sanded through the zona grits.
