A recent posting came up that brought back some thoughts I had back around 2010 and thought since we recently were going through and still are, growing forum phase with the edition of some new forum and sub forum topics. So thought I would throw this out there once again to see the membership as well as Jeff's thoughts. It did not take on traction then but maybe a new set of eyes will have different results.
We champion ourselves here as a family friendly forum where we share not only valuable knowledge and ideas about our hobby pen making, but also stories of our lives. Weather it be health issues or just events that we like to share. Usually they wind up here in the Casual Conversation forum which they should. But something I brought up way back then I think can also apply to today. We as a family have lost many members that have shaped this forum over the years. I am not talking about those that left but in a way yes those that left us. Those that past away. At times people come here and stay awhile and then move on for various reasons. But there are those that stayed and contributed many helpful insights and knowledge and their names remain in our subconscious as we continue to use this great forum. Knowing that so and so roamed the pages here. Delighted us with many great works of art. Yes their work remains and on occasion someone will refer to an older thread and we get to see once again some great work. But their name may not remain. So I would like to see a forum that is dedicated to those names that we know have past on but were gracious enough to touch our lives here. Call it a memorial page or whatever. Maybe the announcement from someone stating that so and so past away and link the thread. This does a couple things and links the newbies with some of the past names that past through these pages. If a newbie looks through this forum he or she can see a name and say hey he must have been popular what did he do and easy enough they can search their name and see older posts. That service is available already here. Now I can give many examples of names but in fear of leaving names out I will refer to this post that brought this to light again. As I said back then, sometimes mixing sorrow in with the pleasurable events does not mix well and thus this idea. Your thoughts.

And then this.
