It's winter in Pennsylvania
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!

Oh, how I love Pennsylvania

When the snow's up to your butt;
You take a breath of winter air

And your nose is frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful,

You may think I'm a fool.

I could never leave
Pennsylvania,
Cause I'm frozen to the stool.

This was sent to me by a high school classmate that still lives in PA. You can substitute the state of your choice.

Sad to say that when I was a kid we still had an outhouse. Wasn't until the mid 50's that we finally got indoor plumbing:eek:.

Hi Carl Thats a good one. Its still snowing and blow in Western Pa this morning. What part of Pa was you from? Im 75 miles of Pittsburgh and 75 miles south of Erie. I guess that puts me smack dab inbetween.

We were close. I grewup near Clarion. Lived in the country between Corsica and Strattonville, RT 322.

I live in Colorado, and we don't really "experience" Winter, compared to all you "crazies" that live in the Midwest and Northeast, and up over the border. Much of the time the snow here is so powdery, it won't really clump for a snowball.

I visited Minnesota a couple years ago in December, and Montreal about 10 years ago in December, and the thought of those trips still makes me shiver.

I understand that

Well I was born in a house with no electricity, no central heat and no indoor plumbing - but we did move to a "modern" house in the 40s. We had indoor pluming and electric but the heat was from a single register on the first floor above the wood furnace - gravity heat only and no ducts to the 2nd floor.

I was born and raised in the Poconos 20 miles southeast of Scranton in southern Wayne County.

That was a good description of last night!!!:eek::eek::eek:

The wind was soooo high I thought we'd wake up in OZ and not Australia either! Or second thought, maybe we would be in Australia!

It was snowing sideways!

Try using an outhouse up here in the winter, and I'll see about prying you off of the seat in the spring...

Oh, and water expands when it freezes, so keep an eye on the rising level in the hole!

That's what Thunder Mugs are for... keeps you from losing the hide off your back side.... 'course it's kinda nasty having to venture out to dump... just have to make sure the wind is blowing away from you....:biggrin::biggrin:
