I'm new to casting my own blanks and stabilizing. I know that I need a pressure pot and a vacuum pot for stabilizing things like a pine cone or a "worthless blank". What else would I need and where's the best place to buy them?

I bought my pressure pot off of Amazon, it is a Shop Fox brand, and it seems like it will do fine (haven't had a chance to use it yet) it is a lot heaver then the Harbor Freight model, and if you search you will find those that don't recomend the harbor freight one.

As far as a vacuum chamber Curtis (MesquiteMan) has them for a very reasonable price, I made my own using his design as a model, and can tell you for a fact it would be easier just to buy his then to try and make one, it takes a lot of work, and time.

You'll also need to invest in a vacuum pump.
