Spalted red oak for sale - *CHRISTMAS SPECIAL*
I have done a little cutting of wood over the last couple of months, and cut into a big old red oak and found some goodies. This wood is hard and stable, no stabilization needed, unless otherwise stated. It is only once in a blue moon that you find red oak that looks like this stuff. Very unusual pieces (blanks 1-40).
I can't even explain all that is going on in these pieces, and the pictures don't do them justice. Most of these are cross cut, and include spalting, burl, crotch, and some have bark inclusion. They are the most beautiful red oak pieces I have ever seen, and I have cut A LOTTTT of red oak.
These were all cut 7/8 x 7/8 x 5 1/4, unless a hard spot was hit on the band saw, which happens a lot in oak. During the drying process, some of them have taken a little bend to them, or have shrank a little, so I am calling them 3/4 x 3/4 x 5 1/4. Most of the pieces are over this size, but some of them have a spot in them that dips under the 3/4 size by a 1/16. Those pieces are marked by an orange or pink tag in the photos.
Blanks have been misted with water to show their true colors and grain.
******* CHRISTMAS Eve and CHRISTMAS Day SPECIAL *******
(The Christmas Special has been extended to the end of the year.)
Blanks 1-40: $8 each (with orange tagged ones being $7 each).
Blanks 41-93: $4 each (with pink tagged ones being $3 each).
**** Blanks 84, 86, 92, and 93 all have a problem with them. They all have a bad end on them, requiring roughly 1 inch to be cut off of them.**** They were just too good looking to burn.
Please post which ones you want on here in a reply to the ad. Shipping will be $4.75 for a small flat rate box shipped in the US with free delivery confirmation. Please contact me for other shipping needs.
Thanks,
Emerson
