There was an ad on craigslist for free wood only a block away from my house. They had a 100 yr old cottonwood tree taken down, free for anyone that wanted some.I decided to check it out to see if I coud use a couple pieces.I got there and the thing must have been 3 feet across, nope too big for me.Then I spottted a burl, then another, then another ,then another, then another. He said take as much as you want so I spent an hour and a half digging around and this is what I took.I guess now I have no choice,I'm gonna have to get into casting.

CA_CHING !! I don't remember ever seeing a Cottenwood pen much less a Cottenwood Burl pen. Should be interesting what comes out of that wood. Jim S

Here ya go,I cut into one of the burls today. This is what's inside besides the horde of ants that came running out in terror of the bandsaw.

It is a good score.I'm gonna turn a bowl out of one to give back to the nice man for all the wood.

Thanks fellas.
