A Knife Order I Didn't Want to Make...

Hey All

I recently got an order for a "girly" EDC knife. I originally want excited to make it, but I have to say it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Here it is:

Nitro V Steel
Translucent Blue Powder Coated Flats
Synthetic Pearl Handle
Nickel Silver Pins
Full Convex Grind
(Blue Leather Sheath is in the works.)

Lovely knife! How is the Nitro V to grind and finish? Do you grind before or after HT?

Looks good Mark. A little stubbie for me.
I am just dipping my toes into this. I am starting with knife blanks that just need handles, light shaping/ polishing and sharpening. I have been using Jantz blanks I got from Woodwrite. I'm on the hunt for a used 1x40 grinder now.
This was my first. A Platte knife, with one of my hybrid blanks.

I am also doing some of the letter openers to add to my shop rather than the usual kit letter openers

I grind 90% before heat treat and do the last 10% after. Nitro V can be very stable if heat treated correct so warps or cracks aren't an issue.
