I hope everyone does not mind if I post this. I know there is a very large number of the members who are in our various branches, and I offer this as a tribute to all of you, and thank you.

Lt Cmndr (ret), my son just graduated from MCRD Basic...I take him back to Pendleton on Tuesday...Thanks for the post and God bless us all!

Jim, thank you and your son for your services. My dad and my brother both went through boot camp at Pendleton. As my brother said, it was actually a lot easier in the 70's than when dad went through in the 40's.

Thank you Sir !!!! Nam 1965-66-67 God Bless Them ALL !!!! I live close to Luke Air Force base in AZ and everytime I see a man or woman in uniform I go out of my way if need be just to shake their hand and thank them for their sevice!!

After graduation, our son wanted to take us to dinner, Class A dress for him! We had several Vets stop and thank him...he said "Thank you sir and thank my dad...DS 1&2 so I followed him". It was humbling for him and made me do something I've had no need for in years...tears really came to my eyes...hardest thing I've seen in a long time. I am very proud of my son!

:usflag:If anyone minds F**** em. USMC Lt.Col Ret. Son is Marine Officer, scout sniper platoon commander preparing for second Afghanistan tour. Fully qualified Marine sniper himself.

Never miss an opportunity to thank any of our brave men and women for what they do and are prepared to sacrifice. And never miss an opportunity to **** off a liberal.

The other day I was preparing to board an airline and heard someone giving a young Marine a hard time about being a glorified assassin. I stepped in, said my piece reminding the lib that her right to say what she wanted was a privilege granted to her on the lives of young men and women like the Marine she was chastising and then handed my first class seat to the young man, while the liberal got jeered and had to sit in coach.

P.S. the captain of the plane was informed of the confrontation, and I also got a first class seat. He also made an announcement as we landed asking everyone to applaud and recognize the sacrifices of not only that young Marine, but all who serve. the plane erupted in cheers and clapping.

God Bless

As a member of a family of folks who were raised to believe it was our duty to serve I say God Bless that young man and all the others that we send in harms way. They are the ones who pay the price to guarantee our freedom - not the politicians, not the judges, not the reporters, not the editors and certainly not the protesters.

Thank you all.

USMC '65 - '70.

Have the moved the Recruit Depot from San Diego to Pendelton?

Not to get an internecine argument going here but, Seriously San Diego on its worse day is better than Paris Island on its best. D$$m sand fleas! I still can't scratch a mosquito bite.
