I want to make a calligraphy pen for my brother and I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a good kit for it, or do you just switch out the nib?

"Calligraphy" is a word with several meanings. Engrosser's Script (sometimes called "Copperplate") requires a very flexible, sharp pointed nib and is typically done using a dip-pen.

Other types of calligraphy - italic script, for example - can be done with a fountain pen equipped with a "squared-off chisel" or stub nib (one that doesn't have a ball off tipping material on the underside). The William Woodwrite set is good for that - but you could also use a regular fountain pen kit as the basis. Replacement nibs can either be purchased already shaped, or you can get a nib ground to your purpose by any one of the quality nib grinders out there. Ones I can think of immediately are Linda Kennedy (at Indy-Pen-Dance), Mark Bacas, Dan Smith, and Michael Masayuma (who ground a nib to medium-italic for me a few years ago.)
