Haven't posted here in a while ...
The Princeton I turned for the display at Woodcraft was really liked by the owners wife. So I took the other end of the blank and made this pen for Rosemary.
It will be the last time I turn one of these pieces of wood.
It's a Woodcraft Buckeye Burl blank dyed red. 6+ (I lost count and was interrupted) coats of Med CA. It was a balmy 41º Degrees in the garage.
As you turn, the dye is a powder, and it gets all over everything, me, the lathe and the dog, we're all pink.
I've spend the greater part of the last two days helping with the Woodcraft Annual 'Turning For The Troops' and I took my 8 year old grandson to turn his first pen.
Brennan's first pen.
