This is a pen that I made for my older son (OldReg) for his birthday this month.

He is so busy with school and doesn't have a lot of time to spare as he pursues a post-graduate education, maintains a perfect grade point average, is working, interviewing...
Recently, we haven't had time to do much together..

During the early morning hours, I reflect on our precious time together, growing up, the fun, the laughter, time in the shop.... I miss him.

Doc:)

Thank you for all the kind comments!
Someone asked about the material for the pen and I realized I hadn't included anything in my original post regarding the making of the pen.
The rod of Mokume Gane was made by master metalsmith Mike Sakmar by fusing combinations of the three metals: brass, copper and nickel silver into a 9 inch long and 14 mm round billet. Completed machined and finished parts were patinated and the resulting surface reaction brought out the contrast of all three metals in a beautiful pattern seen on the pen.

I hope that answers..
Regards,
Doc:)
